5 DIY Design Ideas That Stopped Me In My Tracks

Oct 14, 2015 By Layla

Happy Wednesday! I’m back with five more awesome design ideas I spotted over on Instagram this week. So much talent and creativity being shared over there on IG! 😀

1. Mini Pumpkin Garland by Becky @TheOtherSideOfNeutral :

I literally said “awwwwww!” out loud when that pic popped up on my iPhone screen. Isn’t it just the cutest little garland you ever did see? 😀

2. @TheOtherSideOfNeutral ‘s awesome Painted Staircase:

On her blog, Becky said she removed all the carpet and painted the pine wood that was underneath it. I have been thinking about painting our steps a lot lately and her makeover has be very inspired to just do it!

3. @BlesserHouse‘s DIY Mason Jar Light Fixture makeover:

This one dropped my jaw, y’all. It only cost Lauren $6 because she already had the (builder-basic) fixture in her bathroom. Here’s a link to her awesome step-by-step post about it: DIY Mason Jar Vanity Light

4. @MorganSpenla ‘s clever Faux Stacked Log Fireplace Facade:

I’ve often thought about making something like this too! So glad to find her fantastic step-by-step tutorial about it this week!

5. @BlessedMommaToBabyGirl ‘s old door-turned-range hood:

The hood is made from two antique solid wood doors that were marked $25 each at a yard sale. In her Insta-caption underneath that pic, Patsy said, “It took several weekends of stripping and sanding off many layers of paint to finally get down to the natural wood. I did leave some of the white chippy paint on the edges and in the cracks, and rubbed a dark wax over the rest. This hood was just another lesson in patience in our building process, things usually take much more work and time than you ever think….but it is always worth it in the end!”

Amen, Sister!

I fear your blog has me addicted to your choices and taste in all things lovely. Is there a 12-step group? I hope not. 😉
