2-26

Feb 26, 2015 By Layla

WOW! Where do I even start?

Haiti Adoption

How about some favorites?

1.) I love it when he wants to be held by BOTH of us. One of us will be holding him and he’ll stretch his little arm waaaaay out to let us know he wants us both. 😀

2.) I love it when he decides it’s “private concert time”. He pulls us (and Kevin’s guitar) into one of the crib rooms and after strumming a little bit on his own, he tells Daddy to “chita” (sit) on the tiny chair, and then he plops down into my lap, and points to the guitar and says (in his sweet Haitian accent), “Play please, Daddy!“. When each song is over, he claps and says, “Bravo, Daddy! Bravo!“, then, “Play please, Daddy” again. 🙂

Guitar with Daddy

This next photo was snapped the very first time Sweet P ever saw his Daddy play guitar. I can’t wait to show you the expression on his face once he’s officially a Palmer! 😀

3.) Making puzzles has continued to be a fun activity for the three of us, too:

Haiti Adoption Puzzle | Three Angels Childrens Relief

He pat-pats each piece into place when he finds one, and yesterday afternoon while we were sitting there, he turned to me out of the blue, looked me straight in the eyes and said, “I love you, Mama”.

Needless to say, I am absolutely FLOATING around this place today. 😀
Happy 2-26!

Haven’t the angels at the orphanage done a wonderful job preparing Sweet P for this beautiful transition? Praise God for places like this. Hearts to place babies in the hands of loving people. God’s continued blessing to your family.

Ok, I know y’all don’t know me at all but I would give anything to see this previous blessing from God . I’ve seen and spoken briefly to you at Chapel Market Layla. I’ll be hoping to get a glimpse of him in October this year. As a retired teacher of 35 years with the majority of those in kindergarten I’ve experienced some priceless moments with young jewels. My heart is leaping for joy for all three of you. God bless you all.

I don’t think I have ever commented here, but I have read your blog for a while. I remember your dream that you talked about – I wondered what it could have meant when last February came and went, and then all last year went, and nothing happened. And now, on 2/26 you are actually with your boy, and I was reminded once again that the Lord’s timing is not our timing, but that his timing is always the best timing. I’m so excited that you get to finally be with your Sweet Pea, and I can’t wait (I know it is so much harder for you then for all of us reading about your journey!) until you get to bring him home with you.

Oh, Layla! And Kevin! I’m here in a coffee shop mopping up tears. I keep thinking about how Sweat P’s life is forever changed. And then I think of how your lives are. I’ll run ALL DAY purely on the blessedness I’m feeling on this end. Thank you for sharing!

That one melted me. When your son told you he loved you, well, made me cry. A child’s love for his parents is pure and unconditional. Welcome to parenting bliss you two!
