Life Is Better Together & Obsessed With My Nest T-shirts

Dec 9, 2014 By Layla

Okay- it’s Blog Threads day! 😀

Like I mentioned yesterday, this month’s fundraiser family is the McGurn family from North Dakota:

Bright Green Door Blog

Jess blogs over at BrightGreenDoor.com and after she and her husband, Matt, had their second son, Mason, they felt like adoption might be next on their horizon. Fast forward 3 years, and they were certain that God was laying international adoption on their hearts. They’ve been in process for a little more than a year so far, and they’re currently awaiting for the same type of invitation to meet their daughter, as we are to meet our son. Our kiddos are currently living in the same little room at the Angel House orphanage in Haiti, and one of my favorite photos of our Sweet P is the one where he’s hugging Jess’s little girl! 😀 (I can’t wait to share it with you one day!)

I asked Jess about her process so far and she said, “We have grown in so many ways. We have connected and bonded with so many other families, and we have been inspired to be better parents. We have seen God at work and  experienced His peace when peace seems impossible. Although this Haiti adoption road is a long and hard one, it is clear that this is HIS plan for our family, and that He will bring our daughter home.”

So in honor of our Haiti connection, I thought it would be fun to release a “Life Is Better Together” t-shirt.

Life Is Better Together | T-shirt at BlogThreads.com

The design (which was created by my friend, Lauren) is printed on a super soft, vintage black (50% Polyester, 25% Cotton, 25% Rayon) t-shirt, and it’s available with and without the little “Haiti” in the lower right hand corner.

I’m wearing a size medium, unisex shirt in the photo up above, and the ladies (v-neck) shirts run extremely small. I wear a size large in the ladies cut shirts. And speaking of sizes, here are the size charts for both kinds of cuts:

Blog Threads T-shirt Measurements

HPS stands for “high point of shoulder”. It’s the measurement that goes from the highest point of your shoulder straight down to the hem at the bottom of the t-shirt. The Bust 1″ Blw Amhl measurement is the one that runs from side to side, across the bust area- 1″ down from the bottom of the arm hole if the t-shirt is laying flat. The third measurement is the outside edge of the sleeve. When I was trying to decide which size to order, I measured one of my other t-shirts that fits well to see which size would be the most comparable.

We’re also releasing a second, just-for-fun design this month that says, “Obsessed with my Nest”:

It was designed by my friend, Rachel, and I thought my fellow “homies” would get a kick out of it. 😀 #IAmDecorator #HereMeReDecorate

(Ooh! That might be my next shirt- LOL!)

If you’re interested in ordering a shirt, you can hop over to the Blog Threads website by clicking on the banner below:

Once the sale is done (Thursday night at bedtime!) I’ll deactivate the site so that I can tally up the order and send it off to the print shop on Friday. It takes about two weeks to get them back from the print shop, so Kevin and I should be able to start packing them up and mailing them out around Monday, December 29th. I’m thinking they’ll all be delivered between December 30th and January 12th, depending on what part of the world folks live in.

Thanks for stopping by today, and let me know if you have any questions about the “threads”!

Layla, I’m so happy to have stumbled across your blog. I was a case manager for an adoption agency for a year out of college. I’m encouraged by you and the McGurn family because you guys are the families who are changing generations! I will definitely be adopting in the future (about to be married). Thank you doesn’t begin to give justice to what you’re doing! Glad to see that love is covering the nations!

Hi Layla, I just wanted to say how much I LOVE the t-shirt designs you offer in your Blog Threads sales. However, I always miss the ordering windows for them given that they are on sale for such a short time. I am wondering if you would consider perhaps running a longer sale, for say a week or two where all the designs you have been offering over the past little bit would be offered? Not sure how feasible that would be, but I’d love to have a second chance to order a few of your designs – and I’m probably not the only person who would welcome such an opportunity. Merry Christmas 🙂
