Southern Makers

Apr 18, 2014 By Layla

Attention fellow Alabamians! 😀

I wanted to let you know about an event coming up at the Union Station train shed in Montgomery on May 3rd. It’s called Southern Makers, and it’s one-day festival that brings together artists, chefs, farmers, brewers, architects and designers to explore “Bama-centric” inventiveness, through panels, workshops, and cooking demos.

I couldn’t make it to last year’s event, but I am so excited about going to this one!

The folks at Southern Accents (Cullman, AL) are decking out the whole place with lots of gorgeous salvaged materials again this year, which is sure to make the whole atmosphere feel even more fun. Here are a few pics of how they embellished a few different areas last year:

Pretty inspiring, huh? 😀

Tickets are available over at SouthernMakers.com, and the event is open from 11am-5pm on Saturday, May 3rd. I hope to see you there!

PS- Speaking of “local stuff”, Kevin’s brother’s house is on the market:

Just thought I’d link to it HERE in case you know someone that’s looking for a 4 bdrm/2 bath in the Arrowhead area of Montgomery! 🙂

Wow, I can’t believe how inexpensive houses are in Alabama. Sydney is one if the most expensive cities to live in the world, albeit one of the best xx

That looks like an amazing event! It’s a little far from me here in California but I have a bunch of family in Alabama so I’ll pass the word on to them. Thanks! xo Jonni xo
