Rock, Platter, Napkins

Jun 14, 2008 By Layla

I had Kevin snap this shot of the latest napkins I bought on clearance at Pier One.
I’m going to research napkin-folding techniques on-line today. The in-laws are coming over for dinner Monday night, so I want everything to look nice. 🙂
I found the creamy ceramic platter at Marshalls for $7.99. I’m infatuated with the little design around the edge. It reminds me of seashells!
The smooth, little “Be Mine” stone I’ve had forever…I don’t even remember where I got it. But I needed something with a little weight to hold down the napkins, so it would look pretty in my china cabinet.

This is the look I’m after:

I’m crazy about the color Apple Green right now, so I’m considering splurging on some of these drinking glasses from Crate & Barrel. They’re on sale for $4.95 each:

Well, I’m off to finish painting the Kitchen. I’ll post the Before & After photos VERY soon. It’s quite the transformation so far, if I do say so myself! 😛

Totally loving your FRESH style Layla. The green and brown…yum!

Can’t wait to see your kitchen…I’m needing some fresh inspiration after getting new countertops. I’m thinking about painting the legs of my farmhouse table a pretty blue today. Dunno. We’ll see. Happy weekend. 🙂

You and me both with the apple green, can’t get enough of it. I say go for those glasses. They’ll be a great punch in your room.

Hmm, I LOVE green but didn’t see them in green when we were there Friday night. They had cobolt blue and I promptly bought 4 of them. I love them! They hold 24 oz. or something crazy like that!

I love your blog – and i have to say thank you to ms. sarah for pointing it out. You have the freshest taste (not sure that came out right…) anyway – your house rocks 😀 I’m also entranced by green right now – i’m leaning a little more lime than apple – but i can’t wait to see more pics – it’s such eye candy.

Love your style! I love that green as well, another color that looks good with your inspiration is a pear shade. Can you tell me about the sideboard/hutch in your inspiration photo? Is it from Crate and Barrel?

    Hi Shay!

The hutch is from a local store (in Montgomery, AL) called “Total Liquidators”. They carry discontinued Broyhill furniture at a fraction of the regular cost. I got it for $500! Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂
