5 Instagram Photos That Stopped Me In My Tracks

Oct 18, 2017 By Layla

Hello! Each Wednesday I share some of the photos that stopped me in my tracks while I was scrolling Instagram the previous week. Here are this week’s picks!

1. @JerseyIceCreamCo:

Just begging me to come blog.

2. @Em_Henderson:

Just begging me to come hither.

3. @LilyPadCottage:

Just begging me to come cook watch someone else cook.

4. @HammmadeFurniture:

Just begging me to come relax.

5.@SouthernBite:

Just begging me to come eat it!

I went dairy, red meat, gluten, sugar and fatty free a couple weeks ago though (hoping a cleaner diet will help with my autoimmune disease symptions)- so I’ll just have to drool over it for now. 🙂

Try whole body cryothearphy instead of eliminating food. I only started a week ago, but I have already experienced great relief regarding several issues. The one thing I was unsure about before my first treatment were the comments people made about the cold. I did not feel like I was freezing at all.

    Praying for you right now.

I love Instagram, and really love your stories because they are real. Not just a pretty photo, you know?

I’m older than you, love Jesus, my family, making my home a warm and welcoming place, and so I want my time online to be purposeful. Spending time at your online place is always worth my time!

Your autoimmune disease will reverse/stop if you continue eating “cleaner”. You can do this! Keep on researching, your on the right track.

    Layla,
Fat free is a massive nutritional mistake. Every cell of your body is made of fat–especially your brain. They are essential for health, particularly mental health. Hope you meant seed oil free, because those are not beneficial.
    Trust me, I am a doctor. 😉

Oh, no- you misunderstood. I said “fatty”…not fat. As in, fast food and desserts! 🙂

Layla I have been doing LCHF then switched over to KETO. Twenty less carbs a day, no sugar, grains, beans and eating good high fat. It is great for inflammation and a list of many other things. I have lost 60 pounds in 8 months. I have never felt better in my life. Changes are hard, I certainly hope you get some relief. Praying for you……

If I had that ‘come hither’ conservatory I would never get any blogging or work done! Hee hee. Gorgeous!

I hear you on the autoimmune disease. I have several, lucky me! I have a FODMAP problem too and now I have that under control by eliminating the foods that upset my tum tum and in effect my brain, I feel a lot better. Maybe you could give that a go? Just google FODMAP (Oh the lady who discovered it here in Australia is my daughter’s life-partner’s Aunt, so I know what I am on about!) It isn’t a fad diet it is scientific proven, and medical doctors here now send people off for the testing. Hooray! Doesn’t solve ALL my issues but certainly helps.

You manage a heck of a lot more life than I do though, but then again, what we see on blogs and what happens off screen are two different things. Hats off to you though, coz you do such a great job!
Hoping Steevenson and Kevin are doing well.

Good luck tackling your autoimmune issues. I have a couple myself and am enjoying better health thanks in part to following the protocol in Dr. Amy Meyers book entitled “The Autoimmune Solution” For a fraction of the cost of an office visit with your MD you can read how Dr. Meyers healed herself and found her calling healing others from autoimmune diseases. Available on Amazon BTW

Layla, when you posted about being stuck in bed last week I wanted to call you to tell you about the Whole30 diet. My daughter suffers from chronic pain in her back, hips and feet and she is only 19 🙁
Anyway we did the Whole30 and I am telling you the truth her pain is GONE! I am praising God and we have committed to being gluten, dairy and sugar free for life.
I hope you have the same success!! Look into a blog nocrumbsleft and look at her Whole30 recipes. She is as gifted at cooking as you are at decorating and writing 😉

Just about all of these stopped me in my tracks this week too!! I love that kitchen with the blue island best 😉 Praying your food changes help with your auto-immune problems, and that you find healing in your joints soon. I have some health problems, and so far I am a year symptom free- after being referred to surgery as my only option- the thing that I changed was diet. It’s a powerful thing!

Hi! I love your blog and especially your Wednesday Instagram posts and stories about your beautiful baby boy. :o) Was wondering if you feel like your new diet is helping with your symptoms. I have autoimmune issues too and am wondering if I should give it a whirl. M

    Hi, Layla,
I rarely comment. Feel that I must on this one.
I have tried several diet changes over the years, because of what “they” said was healthy. Well, everybody’s body is different. When I was (mostly) vegetarian for a few years, I just kept getting weaker and being ill more often. I ate chicken and “clean” seafood (no bottom-feeders, no mercury-laden fish) sometimes. Come to find out, my body didn’t do well with the supposedly healthy food combining many vegetarians thrive on, I need red meat once in a while! I was anemic, also eating way too much dairy/cheeses/yogurt, as well as the “wrong” types of cheeses; also, soy isn’t as good for people as “they” tout. This all from my GP at the time. So, I made diet changes under my doctor’s care, started working out and drinking more water, atking the supplements she recommended, and got healthier, even while going to school half-time and working full-time.
Fast-forward to now. Several years ago, I went to ER with incredible pain. Long story short, after numerous tests, doc (different one in a different state) said that I probably have IBS. Put me on the FODMAP diet, and meds. It has helped tremendously, but I still have random, weird symptoms. Of course, I’m older now. Thing is, before this happened, I was eating “healthy”: using raw sugar, honey, agave nectar, molasses, almost no refined table sugar; drinking a smoothie of 4-5 fruits and veggies mixed with plain yogurt every day; very little red meat; lots of various beans; watching caloric intake; whole grains, including wheat, spelt, rye, etc; soy- beans, oil, whatever; fish oil and other supplements; margarine instead of butter; etc. Guess what, the FODMAP diet doesn’t allow most of those things, as they are hard for people like me to process in their GI system. I now only use white sugar or pure maple syrup as sweetener; read every label to weed out soy; only eat a few selected fruits and veggies; can only have certain types of dairy (lactose-free); etc. I also need to eat every 3 hours or so, because my body doesn’t take in all the nutrition of what I eat (most of it comes out pretty much the way it went in). My diet is very different from what many people consider “healthy”, but it has helped. And, yes, I agree with the doctor’s comment above that fat is necessary for our well-being. However, I even had to cut out a lot of fat, as it gives me intense pain in my gallbladder. I also can’t eat onions or garlic, due to GERD; or bananas, due to constipation. So, there ya go! Everybody’s body is different. Consult a good naturopath or traditional doctor, get a specialist, and follow their advice, as well as listening to your body. Have whatever tests you feel necessary to diagnose/treat, and get you healthier. Rest when you need to, drink more water. Praying for you!

Gee! I’m caring for a diabetic husband with congestive heart failure and kidney failure. Of course, he is on a diabetic low sodium diet and that is hard enough to deal with but I have to add salt to my food because of low serum sodium. Sure glad i don’t have to deal with all those other things, too. I agree with B. Folk. Drink plenty of water.
