5 Instagram Photos That Stopped Me In My Scroll

Aug 30, 2017 By Layla

Hello! Each Wednesday I share some of the photos that stopped me in my tracks while I was scrolling Instagram the previous week. Here are this week’s picks!

1. @RoomsForRent:

are so pretty!!!

2. @Kismet_House:

The perspective on that one is what originally stopped me in my scroll (so cool!), but then what fun it was to study all the different things in the pic! I love the mix of tones, textures and patterns!

3.@KristenPanitchInteriors:

Magnolia branches! *That’s* what I need for my Fall mantel!

4. @LeanneFordInteriors:

I love everything about that kitchen. What a fun mix of elements and styles!

5. @AmberInteriors:

I’m new to Amber’s feed but WOW, am I smitten! I love how airy and calm her interiors are. *sigh*

PS- Speaking of Instagram, I posted this photo in my feed yesterday and invited folks affected by Hurricane Harvey to leave comments about how we can help/pray…

I’d love for you to swing over there and read them if you have time. It broke my heart to hear what so many Insta-friends are going through, but it helped me get a better understanding of how we can specifically help and pray. This week’s Thought-Full Thursday post will include links to organizations that need donations, so if you know of any that I should mention, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. You’re on our hearts and in our prayers, Houston…and anyone affected by the devastation caused by Harvey. XO

Hello from D/FW! Yesterday on Decor To Adore I posted specific ways people can help if they live locally or far away. Then, I put into action how the local church can be the hope of the world. I made trips to the local police department to drop off supplies to the first responders and delivered pet food and kitty litter to two local shelters that are taking in animals. Both visits are on my IG. Today I will be heading over with donations for the 1000’s of evacuees that are arriving. I’ve readied the guest room. My cousin’s home is currently surrounded by water. But I am praising God that she and her family are safe. I am also praying that the levees and reservoirs continue to hold as more rain is expected.

Just a note. I live in the burbs of Houston. One lady posted on Facebook that since she has a toddler and cannot help in the traditional ways, she is willing to wash and dry clothes for others. Isn’t that the sweetest thing you have ever heard? She said she will pick them up if she can get to where they are or they can drop off if they prefer and are able to get through. People helping in creative ways!

Southern Baptist relief teams do a great work helping in disasters. Their teams are staffed by volunteers so donations go to the needs not salaries. Many arrived in Houston before the hurricane hit and many more will be there in the days and weeks ahead. They bring semi trailers especially equipped for disaster relief. They serve many meals from their food preparation trucks. They have semis equipped with toilet, shower, and laundry facilities. They also do child care and clean up work.
