Just a quick heads up to let you know we’re throwing a summer-themed link party on Monday, June 18th! We’re calling it “Summer Fun”, and whether you’ve blogged about (or are planning to blog about) your summer-y mantel, window sill, bookshelf, or wall ledge- we’d love for you to link up!
We have fun creating new vignettes above our fireplace from season to season…
…and we look forward to blogging about what we created up there this summer, too. We’ll be back next Friday with a post all about it, and we look forward to partyin’ with you on the 18th!
PS- If you’d like to invite more peeps to the inspiration party, we’d love it if you’d copy and paste this button to the end of the post you link up on the 18th…
Thank you!
Danielle
Sounds like fun! So excited for the arrival of summer and this is a fun way to celebrate it.

Thank you for the inspiration but the rain won’t quit and it doesn’t feel like summer! But you’re pretty photos help! Thanks!

The link party sounds fun! I’m going to start working on something now 🙂 ps – i love your vignettes, a lot of them are very ‘pallet-able’ 😉

oh goodness! you just gave me some great ideas for my mantel! I love the image with the butterflies. It reminds me of something that is inspired by Anthro!

Re-doing the mantle for the season is a wonderful idea! A fun way to show off changing tastes and moods in your home. We’ve always been big fans of mirrors over the mantle, but the wood board looks just fantastic!
JJasmin Interiors
Love the sweet bug photo….one of my favorites! Will surely be taking part …..thank you!
Lindsay
I have loved every mantle you’ve done! It was crazy to see what years those were, I remember when you initially posted each one! I forget that I’ve been with you guys for several years 🙂 I’ll be linking up on the 18th!
Darlene
Just wanted to say a quick thank you, which is overdue. I absolutely loved the chalkboard you made about spring time that I had my husband make one for my kitchen! Every season I change the quote or poem. It has inspired others to make one for themselves too!

Yay! I’m looking forward to it {love the button!} I’ve always especially loved your summer 2010 mantel, it was really memorable and showcased your unique creativity. Thanks for all the inspiration!

This is about the ceiling. I got your email. I would love to see pictures of the strips you used on the ceiling. I think it will be perfect for our situation with putting wiring between the existing ceiling and the new board one. Thanks so much for your help. I love 2010 decorating on this post. Those colors are great.
Layla
Hey there! Just click back onto any of this weeks ceiling posts to read all about those planks. They’ve really done the trick around here, and I think they’ll probably work for you, too! 🙂
marilyn
Thanks, I will do!!!
Linda @ it all started with paint
Happy belated birthday. And now you’ve just thrown a big old wrench in my week … I have to come up with some kind of inspired summer fantel idea. And right now my mind is filled with my bead board wallpaper project that I’ve promised myself to tackle this week …
So my fantel may feature some balled up bead board wallpaper mishaps and mistakes …
🙂

Hey Layla….Was the wood beam for your mantel already in your home or did you install it yourselves? if so, what did you use. We have a very long mantel in our dinning room, 12′, and would love to replace it with an old beam or something. Any suggestions for something that long? Always inspired by your posts! Keep up the good work 🙂

My favorite is the “flag” with the star fish, it screams summertime to me! Great ideas, looking forward to linking up on the 18th!
Debbie
Thanks for the invitation 🙂 party time!

Hmmm, you would think that since I live at the beach a summer mantel would be a no brainer … but I don’t have a mantel so I might need to get a little creative. Fun party idea, I hope I can come up with something. 🙂

Hi – I love your summer mantles – I don’t know which year I love the best!! Very tough decision!
I did a summer mantle this year – so I will be linking up for sure…it’s on my blog calendar (number one thing to do next week!)
Thanks…

That little button party linky thingy you made is just awesome! I’m on level 4 of your hubbies or yours (whoever) photoshop elements class and I’m loving it! I hope I can make a square and add some cute things when I am finished 🙂 hehe. Love your mantel. So beachy/summery and fun.

all of these inspirations you shared with us is great! i love everyone =) though my fave would be spring 2012 and summer 2011. the wood piece you used in summer 2011, was it built from scrap wood and then painted distressed? i think the wood piece is a great staple item that could be used all year around
