Hey, friends!
We did a little sprucing up on the front porch for a fun project with Kirkland’s this weekend, and I’m excited to share a few photos of what we pulled together!
If you’ve followed along here for a while, you know that we recently had the porch painted (Palladian Blue on the ceiling, Simply White on the house, Caviar on the door and Platinum on the floor) and I’ve been looking forward to doing some decorating ever since. I’m taking things slowly as usual though because…well…there’s no rush! Just like the rooms inside our home, I just want to have fun with the process…not be stressed out by it! 🙂
Kevin and I picked up the (giant!) ferns at Fitzpatrick Greenhouse in Fitzpatrick, Alabama. They were only 12 bucks a piece, but I swear someone could charge admission for the drive out to that place. If you’ve ever taken the trip from Pike Road to Fitzpatrick you know exactly what I mean. Pastures and peacefulness for DAYS. It’s glorious.
Here’s a peek at the area of the porch we had fun playing with:
The magnolia leaf wreath, enamel pitcher, faux flowers and scale/clock all came from Kirkland’s, and oh how I love having those pieces of personality out there!
I don’t always like to bring my cell phone out onto the porch, but if I’m out there for a while, I do need to keep an eye on the time (especially if it’s right before I need to go pick up Steevenson from school) so that scale/clock has been such a helpful piece to have around. And I love how the faux flowers gracefully bend over the top of it.
I’m actually sitting in that rocking chair typing this blog post out right now. It’s become my favorite spot to sit. Especially when Kevin’s in the other rocking chair, Kit-Cat is curled up in the corner, and Steevenson is playing with his toys on the rug. It may have taken us a while to start pulling this space together but boy was it worth the wait!

Looks lovely! Where did the black urns that are holding the ferns come from? And dimensions if you know lol
Thanks !
Have a lovely week
Layla
Thank you, friend! And the urns came from Home Depot. They’re about 24″ tall by 16″ wide.

Beautiful as always! Love it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Lovely as well as practical, too. Thanks so much for the ideas!
Layla
Sure thing, Karen! Thanks for stopping by today!

Your Blogs always WOW me!

I LOVE your porch. How to you keep the porch floor clean while living in the south. I live in Atlanta and I’m having a problem with red clay stains on my ‘Navajo White’ porch floor.
Layla
Hi, Claudia!
Ours is painted Platinum and we don’t have red clay issues here. Maybe you need a color closer to the color of the clay?

Thank you for sharing your porch. The rocking chair look very inviting. What kind of view do you have?
Layla
To the right, we are one block away from the lake. The other views are of all the other pretty houses and porches on our street. Every house is required to have one out here! 🙂

Love…Love…Love this space. Beautiful as always

Love the look you’ve created, Layla! I know you’re particular when choosing faux plants. Are you pleased with quality of the plants from Kirkland’s
Layla
Thank you, Vicki! And, yes, I chose these faux flowers because I like the way they look. Especially with the enamel pitcher!

Very welcoming! Did you buy the table too, or was it something you already owned?
I’ve ordered Faux lavender plants and others from Kirklands before, and never have been disappointed! Always happy with whatever I get there! In fact, a big chunk of my decor is from Kirklands.
Vicki
Thanks for commenting on the quality of the flowers Marianne!
Layla
Hi, Marianne! I got the table at a flea market a while back. I love it so much!

Your front porch looks adorable!! Where did you get the rug?
Layla
Thank you! And the rug is from Dash & Albert! 🙂

Layla
