Hi, friends!
I’m excited (and a little sweaty!) to announce that I’ve decided to re-open my e-design service today. Eek! 😀
It’s been nine years since I’ve done design consultations professionally, and I have no idea how this will go, but it’s something I can do while Sonny is at school and at night after he goes to sleep, and you know how much IÂ love dreaming up inspiration for folks using Photoshop!
Of course I’ll still be posting as usual here on my blog (presto change-o posts included), but I do get a lot of requests from people asking if I’m available for hire, so it seems like a good idea to fire it up again. I’m going to be advertising my new venture in as many places as I can think of, but I thought I’d start here today in case you’re one of the gals who has written asking if I offer professional design services. (Thank you if you have! Your kind words and interest in working with me are appreciated so much and helped give me the guts to put this out there today!)
Just like back in 2008, I’m offering two different types of consultations. A Single Photo Consultation ($99…same as in 2008) and a 3-Photo Consultation ($129). Here’s a breakdown of what’s included with each:
1. Single Photo Consultation – $99
You send me an email about yourself/your family, the style you’d like to create, and (large, clear) photo of your design dilemma (it can be anything: a room, a piece of furniture, an exterior, etc), and I’ll use Photoshop to modify your picture so you can see what I would recommend/what’s possible. My hope, more than anything, is that the photo I put together gets *your* creative gears turning so that you feel confident about moving forward with the project, not paralyzed by it. I’ll also send you a (lengthy) email response with all my thoughts on everything I incorporated into the Photoshopped pic, as well as links to the specific items I used. I’ll recommend paint colors (if applicable) and suggest back-up options in addition to the ones outlined and pictured in the photo I put together. After I send you this information, you’re welcome to reply with additional questions, and I’m happy to respond with additional ideas, but no extra photo editing is included.
2. 3-Photo Consultation – $129
You send me a detailed email about yourself/your family, the style you’d like to create, and a (large, clear) photo of your design dilemma (again, it can be anything: a room, a piece of furniture, an exterior, etc), and I’ll use Photoshop to alter your picture three completely different ways. That way, you have more options to choose from and you’ll feel more confident about moving in a specific direction because you’ll be able to *see* the things you *don’t* want to do along with the things you really do! I’ll also send you a (lengthy) email response with all my thoughts on everything I incorporated into the Photoshopped pics, as well as links to the specific items I used. I’ll recommend paint colors (if applicable) and suggest back-up options in addition to the ones outlined and pictured in the photos I put together. After I send you this information, you’re welcome to reply with additional questions, and I’m happy to respond with additional ideas and make modifications to whichever (one) photo you’d like to see them on.

I’ve got lots more posted here and here if you’d like to check those out too!
And if I did this right (it’s been a while!), you should be able to click on the Paypal buttons below to purchase either of my consultations:

Thanks in advance to anyone who lands on this post and wants to work together. I am passionate about cottage and farmhouse style design and decorating, and I sure do appreciate the invitation and chance to help you personalize your home! XO
Layla
**Edited to add: I want to make sure I give folks who purchase these consultations 100%, so I think I’ll probably turn the Paypal buttons off once I partner with nine people, and then won’t turn them back on until I complete their designs first.
**Update: I’m partnered with nine people, so I need to turn off the Paypal buttons now. Email me at [email protected] if you’d like to be notified the next time I turn them on! Thank you!! 😀

Oh my gosh…that’s totally how I started following your blog…by seeeing the post on The Pioneer Woman about her daughter’s bedroom. Didn’t you get to you and help in person? I’m going to relook at the post. But I think that is when I started following you. Cool! Your brush with fame.
Leen
Nine years? Wow, where does the time go?
Good luck with your new (old) adventure. Looking forward to seeing more consults, they’re always so inspiring!
Deb
Layla,
This post could not have come soon enough.
I am currently in the stages of selling one home and looking for another. I have moved from an area where most homes are updated to an area that has a lot of homes stuck in the sixties and seventies and eighties.
I have a relative who can do a lot of the upgrading work but I am not always sure when I see a house how I would proceed to bring it at least into the 2000’s. YOU are the answer!!! I know your inbox is going to be flooded by the time May rolls around!!
Layla
Your last sentence made me think about something important, so I’ve edited my post to say that I’m only going to partner with 7 people for the time being. That way, I can really focus on the people and designs that come in first, and I won’t make anyone have to wait too long. Thank you for the sweet words and I look forward to working with you, friend!! 😀
Karlene
What a great endeavor and this will be a great benefit to clients and us (I hope you’ll share some with us too! ) Visualizing renovations are so hard, it’s one thing to find photos of ideas you like, but seeing them together in your space is a challenge! Your prices seem most reasonable. Best wishes!
Layla
Yes! I look forward to sharing LOTS of presto change-o posts here once I have more to share! And thank you for your kind words…they felt like a big, warm hug! XO
chris from Midwest Cottage and Finds
looking for my pictures of our fireplace wall right now!! Will be purchasing from you!!!
Layla
Aw, thank you, Chris!!! I looooove fireplace walls!!!
Olivia
I hope you keep doing this for a long time. My husband and I are building a house next year and just looking at the floor plans is making my mind spin. Unfortunately it’s too soon, but I will be seeking your advice once the walls are up. Good luck on your new/old venture… you’re REALLY good at it!
Layla
Thank you for the words of encouragement, Olivia! And congratulations on your new home in-the-works! I would love to partner with you on a design plan! 😀
Marianne in Mo.
What fun! I always liked seeing your presto-change-o posts! While I don’t have any changes myself, I hope someone will submit quickly, so you can show what you can do best! I think Ree should have used your design, but it looks like she did have the Novogratz’ utilize the same thoughts, if I remember correctly! Can’t wait to see some design!
Layla
Hi Marianne!
Yes, the Novogratz’ did a FANTASTIC job on that room, and I’m so excited to see that Mercantile of hers one day! 😀
Mel
Is there any chance you would do exterior, “curb appeal” design advice?
Layla
Hi Mel!
I’d totally be up for an exterior design consultation! I’ve had fun working on those throughout the years too. I’ll add an example to this post! 😀
Hollee Nadeau
I tried purchasing one of these but I can’t get the link to work. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Layla
Hi Hollee!
I added some wording at the bottom of the post to let folks know I had to turn off the buttons for a bit. I also created a waiting list if you’d like to be a part of the next group of nine! XO
Hollee Nadeau
Yes, I would like to be on the waiting list. Thanks so much.
Marie, Paint it white
I’m so glad your back doing this. I love the magic of the ‘after’ shot every time. Sometimes I try to guess before I look at your photo shop version but you always surprise!!!!!!!. You have that visual gift. Much love to your lovely family 🙂
Dinelle
What process do you recommend when painting kitchen cabinets? We are thinking about painting instead of replacing. Just curious what you would recommend.
katie g
Yay! Congratulations on the re-start. 😊 I’m going to start saving my pennies so you can do our master bedroom, and living room… And dining room…and.. .😉
Gina Burket
I’d like to be added to the waiting list.
We have a living room with a fireplace and built-ins that I need your expertise help.

I think you may have to forget about your LuLaRoe and just do this! LOL. You are going to be one busy mama! And your rates are VERY reasonable. You have a true talent for this. If I wasn’t too stubborn on my own design ideas I would use you as well. 😉
Renee

Geri
