“It doesn’t matter how old I get, whenever I see anything new or splendid, I want to call, “Mom, come and look!“
-Helen Exley
I’ve been having fun popping my favorite colors here and there and everywhere in the living room. A little blue, a little green, a little gray…they feel like home to us.
Still working on that gallery wall, too. I look forward to sharing a photo of the whole thing when I’ve got the last three pieces in place. Maybe next week?
As for the pillows, I’ve had most of them for quite a while now, but the two on the left are new additions. I found the fabrics on sale at JoAnn’s, and my talented friend Jana was so sweet to whip them into pillow cases for us.
Are you just completely fascinated by fabrics, too? I can literally stroll around that store and dream of ways to use them for hours.
And to see the ones I brought home with me come to life in the form of fun new pillows for our sofa? Well, that was definitely a “Mom! Come and look!” moment. 🙂

What a stunning, peaceful room, Layla! I want to snuggle up with a book on your couch!! 😉

I love your new pillows! I have a weakness for throw pillows, just like I do for shoes. Such an easy and inexpensive way to update a room. Your wall is fabulous.

Nice pillows. I have decided I want to purchase throw pillow cases, as they catch my eye because then I can store them easy and shop the house (to change them out) as I want and don’t have to worry about storage issues…as much. 🙂 Small apartments… Now, how do we get Pier 1 on board with that? I adore Pier 1!!
Anyway, I have a question please. 🙂 What are the sizes of the frames on your gallery wall? I am also planning a gallery wall and am having fun trying to figure out the sizes to go with. I know there are many options and not too many rules, but as I find groupings I like I am trying to make note of the sizes to help me. Could you share? Pretty please with sugar on top! 🙂
Have a fabulous day!

Layla…..As always, your accessories are perfection. Just lovely. I had to chuckle at your comment re loving to spend hours and hours looking at fabric. So many of us share that pleasure. Enjoy the luxury now because your little guy most likely will be bored with it. My two sons, now 46 and 51, often recount for others their memories of Mom “dragging” them to the fabric store. That was my primary and favorite form of entertainment in those days, and still is. I found a solution which satisfied both of them. It was a different time and I could safely sit them at the pattern counter with pattern books opened to Halloween costumes. They could choose their costumes for the upcoming holiday. Their choices changed many times throughout the year.

I love the colors you use in your home! They’re very serene and calming. I am completely in love with your gallery wall!! I’m not usually a fan of them, but yours is varied and interesting. The throw pillows are great and I also enjoy mixing and matching fabrics although I rarely sew these days.

When can I move in? 😉 LOVE the paisley pillow.

I like it! I like it a lot!

They are so pretty! I meant to tell you I took a photo of a propeller at a restaurant (with Maddox and Justin) last weekend – looked just like yours (only REALLY weathered). We were thinking of you! XO

I love how it’s all coming together! The gallery wall… the pillows! It looks so peaceful and pretty! I especially love the pop of fun fabric on the back of the pillows! That’s a small detail you might miss… but really makes a difference!

I have a love/hate relationship with throw pillows and blankets. I love them. LOVE THEM. I prefer to stick with all neutrals and navy with a lot of texture. But when I try to combine them… it all seems to fall apart!

Ooh, I’m so obsessed with block prints at the moment and that white paisley on navy is divine.

As always so loving the look. Blue, my all time favorite except yellow. Just simply lovely my dear. Continuing to pray for you and Kevin.

Hi, I love the new pillows, do you know the names of the fabrics? I searched their website, but couldn’t find either fabric:(. Thanks!

Girl….you are singing to the choir about pillows…and fabrics. It is my “jam” as they say and presents danger at every corner. I am always one “pretty fabric” away from re-decorating a room at any given minute:) Love the choices and especially the one that has 2 different fabrics!
