Flea Market Style Magazine
I was feeling extra translucent today (I don’t get out much, and it hasn’t been super sunny around these parts for quite some time now), so when I realized today was actually going to be a pretty day- I decided I should go out and enjoy it for a little while.
First stop, the Post Office to mail our last giveaway winner her sensational soap. Next stop, Burger King. Love that chicken sandwich of theirs! And after that, I headed to Books-A-Million to check out their selection of the latest and greatest in shelter mags. There’s nothing like a wall full of brand new, beautifully-shot images of interiors to get my blood a-pumpin! (And since my skin is practically see-thru at this point, I’m sure everyone in the store was well aware of how excited I was too. I’m not joking. I’ve got purple lines running from my temples to my cheeks right now. It’s nuts.)
At my Books-A-Million, the magazines are located all the way at the back of the store. Which is kind of a bummer because if they were closer to the front door I might actually be able to catch a couple of rays. Or in the very least, feel a little less like a vampire. But the walk across the ginormous store was good for me, and before long I found myself standing in front of my favorite chunk of shelves. You know the ones. They hold copies of all of our favorite “regulars”…Coastal Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living, Kitchen & Bath Ideas, 100 Decorating Ideas for Under $100, 100 Ways to Cover Up the Veins on Your Face, 100 Ideas…..
Wait a second.
What was that last one called?

(Okay, no more skin jokes, I promise.)
As my over-stimulated, yet overjoyed eyes continued to make their way across each and every row, two hot pink words suddenly stopped them dead in their tracks.

But much to my surprise, it was the magazine I was secretly hoping to find there today. I couldn’t help but let out a little burst of excitement as I pulled it up and out of the rack…

I just stood there looking at it. Beaming and reading, reading and beaming. It was so much fun to finally see it after all these months of wondering what it would look like!
After a ten minute chat about why I was so excited with a very nice lady who happened to be standing next to me at the time, we hugged good-bye and I raced up to the check out counter. Even though I had originally wanted to spend some time outside of the house today, I simply could not wait to get back to it and read my new magazine.
So I’d like to send out a BIG thank you to Matthew, Ki, Linda, Sarah, Jenny, Tim, Heather and Stacey for creating another thing for this “homie” to be happy about today!

It’s one of the most beautiful, fun and informative magazines I have ever had the pleasure of reading and I will certainly be referring back to it for inspiration in the future!
In other news, Kevin and I will be re-guesting this nest this weekend, and I look forward to sharing some updated photos of it next week!
Have a happy weekend-
Layla
PS- There’s a little ditty about TLC on page 29 of Flea Market Style magazine. Thanks so much to Linda for including us!
