The flooring for the Bungalow Barn was finally delivered a few days ago, and Steevenson wanted to show y’all what it looked like. 😉
Is he a cutie pie, or what? 🙂 Full disclosure: I told him we were going to take a picture of him with it so that we could show some people what it looked like, but I did not tell him to pose like that. That was all him! 😀 And that yellow mask? After he put his clothes on that morning, he decided that mask (worn as a headband) would be the perfect finishing touch for his outfit and he wore it like that until bath time that night- ha! Such a creative kiddo!
Here’s another look at of one of the planks:
It’s Swiftlock laminate flooring in the color Antique Hickory. It has little bumps and scrapes on it, and looks so much like real wood! I fell in love with it after seeing it in Jess Wasserman‘s house. Here are some photos from her Instagram feed:
I love that she used wallpaper in almost every room too! 🙂
And speaking of design inspiration from folks I follow on Instagram, I was inspired to select a few pebble tile samples for the shower floor in the Bungalow Barn, too. Jenna Sue used them in the bathroom she recently updated and I just love how it turned out:
Jim and Katie decided to go with the one on the bottom of that first pic. Here’s a photo of it by itself:
We’re going to line the shower walls in white subway tile…just have to decide if we should order the glossy one (pictured on the bottom, below) or the matte one (the one on top):
It looks like the matte one is a *little* more ivory-colored (which isn’t quite right), so it’ll probably be the glossy one on the bottom with a gray-colored grout.
The painters are here finishing up today, but hopefully I’ll have some flooring installation photos to blog about by the end of the week!
Stay warm, friends!
