I didn’t just “like” them…I “loved” them! I didn’t get the chance to post on their site last week (slacker here) so hopefully this helps! I wish you the BEST OF LUCK in adopting you little love! You guys are such an inspiration, in so many ways…you guys are going to be the best parents in the entire universe (and of course the meanest on the block too ;-)!) Happy Thanksgiving!

I have been following your blog for a while now and somehow missed that you were adopting! How very exciting. We have adopted 3 times from Russia and were also blessed to have a child biologically prior to our adoptions…truly all of our children are a miracle and gifts from God. I will try to scroll back to your older posts and see where you are adopting…intl. or domestic.

I will also keep you guys in my prayers. Adoption is not for the faint at heart…but adoption is the will of God and He always blesses it! I cannot wait to follow your adoption journey. Congratulations!

    Hi Layla and Kevin!
I don’t have a facebook account, but my daughter does, so she “liked” it for me. I hope you get all the “likes” you need! My sister adopted a son from Russia, and my husband’s brother has adopted 2 children. I will continue to pray for your journey to being a forever family.
It’s beginnning to look a lot like Christmas around here. Can’t wait for the inspiration coming up in your blog this week!

  18. Christa says

Done! I’ll be thinking about you two as you embark on this journey! Can’t wait for the mantel party. I beefed up my mantel using your mantel tutorial a few months ago so I am extra excited to decorate this year. :) :)

  21. says

Hey! I just made it in time to “like”! Super exciting time for y’all-praying for patience, strength and direction! This will be our second Christmas with our sweet boy, brought him home two days after Christmas 2008! xo psalm 13:6

  22. says

How exciting about your adoption process! I have always wanted to adopt since I was a little girl. Praying for you! <3 Also, I wanted to tell you that my mantel is ready and I'm looking forward to the party. woohoo. 😉

  23. Jen- says

We adopted an 8yr old child, and he’s been the most wonderful blessing we never knew we wanted! We agreed to watch him for ‘two weeks’ while his mother sobered up. Little did we know God wanted us to raise him as our own. Two months into it he was asking to call ME mommy! *SOB* He’s so precious and unbelievably grateful all the time! I’ve learned so much from him and feel so honored and privileged to have him in our lives. God will give you just the right one. I’m so happy for you two. You’ll NEVER regret it! It’s a daily awesome moment right in front of your eyes. :)

  24. says

Oh, I didn’t know you were adopting, that’s fantastic! I actually work with kids in the foster care system before they become adoptable (if that’s the route their case takes). Have you looked into state and federal subsidies? Between state, federal, and county governments, it’s often possible to adopt from the United States for almost no money, especially if they’re two years old or older. Just thought that might help a little bit – people who want to adopt are usually incredible people and deserve all the help they can get!

  25. Chrissy says

Congratulations on your adoption! Family rocks, and though I don’t know you, it is obvious you are deeply in love with each other and life…a perfect haven for a wee one. We are one big whacky family enjoying life, loving each other through the good, bad and ugly. Our crew is created biologically and through domestic and international adoption totaling seven kiddos between the ages of 4 and 12! Just so thrilled for you, and will keep you in my prayers!

  26. Monica says

I believe children are God’s miracles. I have two loving little boys (biological). However, my brother and sister-n-law have adopted three marvelous, beautiful children of their own. Unable to have children and not enough funds for a typical adoption, they went through the foster system. God has blessed them and I know he will do the same for two incredible people as yourselves. There is a little boy or girl out there waiting with their heart wide open for the two of you to fill with love. Congratulations!
